The Perfect Desktop: Dash to Panel Extension

Dash to Panel Extension
Following up on the Gnome-Shell extensions that make up my perfect desktop, the second of these is Dash to Panel.

This is an icon taskbar for Gnome-Shell, which moves the dash into the Gnome main panel. The application launchers and system tray are combined into a single panel, similar to that found in KDE Plasma and Windows 7+. A separate dock is no longer needed for easy access to pinned and running applications.

Just about every aspect of the panel is fully customisable, from positioning and scaling panel elements, to running indicators, to multi-monitor display, to window previews and auto-hide.

Dash to Panel provides live previews from the main panel. Hover over the launcher icon for a running application to get a live window preview.

Launch by Number allows you to launch your favourite applications via the keyboard.

'Panel Intellihide' (clumsy name, cool feature) is the equivalent of the autohide feature in other desktop panels and docks, which will roll the panel off the visible desktop to give you extra real estate. RC
